Billy Collins

Billy Collins is a 6th generation resident of Real County and the Nueces Canyon. Born in Uvalde, he grew up in Camp Wood, attending school K through 12 at NCCISD, and graduating Valedictorian from Nueces Canyon High School. Growing up in the Nueces Canyon, he fished, hunted, and enjoyed the outdoors, especially with his father, Floyd Collins, a native of the area as well.

After high school, Billy attended Texas A&M University in College Station and graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration with majors in Accounting and Marketing. He also holds a Master’s Degree in Administrative Leadership, and additional education toward a doctorate.

After a career as a teacher, principal, and school superintendent for many years, Billy has entered the real estate profession joining Riata Realty. He enjoys serving clients and helping them find the properties they are looking for, providing the needed information for decisions and taking them all the way through closing day….and sometimes after that!

Billy brings a longtime knowledge of the land, activities and history of the Nueces Canyon and southwest Texas area, as well as knowledge of financial markets, lenders, taxation related to real estate, and the environmental issues of the area to service clients. He has many years of experience working with banks, and other financial institutions, that aids clients in a variety of different ways, as well as many local connections in the area that serve both buyers and sellers well.
In addition, Billy enjoys fishing, kayaking, hunting and spending time with new friends made in the business and frequently introduces clients to all the fun activities in the Nueces River area.

He is married to Christi, and has two children, Trent, a 2023 graduate of Texas A&M, who is planning on attending law school, and Kassi, who currently attends Texas A&M who is seeking a degree in Pharmacy.
